Hopper’s House
Hopper’s House Policies
Checking In & Out
Upon your first stay with Hopper’s House, you will be required to complete a child and parent information form, as well as, sign a liability waiver. This applies to all programs offered by Hopper’s House including, but not limited to, drop-in care, open play, and track-out sessions. Upon arriving for a Birthday Party the only release needed to be completed by the entire birthday group will be the Release Waiver for use of the equipment. This information is vital to the staff at Hopper’s House and to your child’s welfare. When you come to pick up your child, you will be asked to present a picture ID. You will then receive a statement for services rendered, which will then need to be paid at check-out. * (Track-Out program payments are paid weekly rather than daily) For your convenience, Hopper’s House accepts cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. There will be a $25.00 charge for returned checks.
*Always remember your socks*
Snacks and Meals
If your child is with us during a meal, parents are asked to bring a lunch or dinner. A meal may be prearranged with the staff for a fee. We ask that lunch or dinner is prepaid at time of drop off. Menus and prices will be available upon check-in. Snacks are served at 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. We will provide your child with juice and crackers at that time. Lunch is at 12:00 pm and dinner is 6:30 pm Monday-Saturday. All lunch orders MUST be made by 10:00 am and dinner orders by 5:00 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS! If your child comes to Hopper’s House during meal times, please be sure that they have something to eat. If your child comes after those times, please be sure that your child has been fed. Please make sure that Hopper’s House has information on any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
Safety & Security
Our number one concern is the safety and security of your child. Parents will be asked to show a picture ID to this establishment in order to release any child.
Personal Items
Hopper’s House will provide your child with numerous items to play with so we ask that your child NOT bring personal toys with them. Hopper’s House will not be responsible for personal items including, but not limited to, clothing, shoes, and toys. Any items left at the facility will be kept in a lost and found box for 30 days. After that time, items will be donated to charity.
Special Needs
Please make Hopper’s House staff members aware of any special needs your child might have. Your child should be able to play independently within our staff ratio. Hopper’s House does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, or sex. The staff of Hopper’s House will not administer any over-the-counter or prescription medications.
Healthy Children
It is our policy at Hopper’s House, not to accept sick children. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Please do not bring your child to Hopper’s House if they have had or do have a fever or vomited in the past 24 hours. Please keep your child home if he/she suffers from a sore throat, rash, cough, diarrhea, or pink eye. If a child becomes ill during the course of their stay, the child will be separated from the other children ( he/she will remain within eyesight and hearing of our staff ) and the parent will be contacted immediately. Parents will be expected to pick-up their sick child in a timely manner. Hopper’s House staff members have First Aid training and will administer to minor cuts and bruises when applicable. In the event of an emergency, your child will be transported to the closest medical facility for treatment at the parent’s expense. If any child or staff member contracts any infectious disease, it will be posted in a visible location.
Good Behavior
At Hopper’s House, we know that children respond to favorable and positive reinforcement. We will encourage children to make good choices, but we also know that there will be times when verbal guidance and re-direction will be necessary. There may be times when a child would be asked to take a short time-out from their activities. Hopper’s House reserves the right to refuse care to children who have been exceptionally aggressive until such time when there has been a significant change in their behavior that can be proven.
Licensing
In the state of North Carolina, Hopper’s House does not qualify as a “daycare”. We do strive to meet any applicable regulations that are designated for licensed daycares by the State of North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services.
Diapering
It is the parent’s responsibility to provide diapers, wipes, and extra change of clothing.
